U.S. Tactical Nuclear Weapons: Reduction or Modernization? by Vladimir Kozin
- The monograph examines in detail the process of development, production and deployment of the U.S. tactical nuclear weapons (TNW) on the global scale linking them with contemporary nuclear doctrines of the USA and NATO. Considerable emphasis is being made upon identifying of modernization of TNW and its delivery vehicles during Barack Obama’s Administration (2008-2016), and in a distant future – up to 2075.
- The relevant stances of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation in terms of TNW are also examined, as well as various initiatives on their limitation that are suggested by Russian and foreign scholars in a critical way.
- The author considers issues of what the next talks on TNW might be confronted with, including those issues related to terminological definitions, the subject of potential reductions, confidence-building and transparency measures, and some other aspects.
- The book can be used by experts studying nuclear arms and nuclear arms control in the context of the global security, as well as relationship between Russia and the USA, Russia and NATO.
- In 2015 the Russian version of the book has been rewarded a Honorary Diploma named after Colonel General Varfolomei Korobushin (1924-2011), Strategic Nuclear Missiles’ Forces, the Russian Federation.
